Organizations wishing to apply for federal stimulus money for broadband projects will have several opportunities in the coming weeks to learn more about the grant process. The National Telecommunications and Infrastructure Administration (NTIA) and USDA's Rural Utilities Service (RUS) will distribute $4.8 billion in the second and final round of grants to support broadband deployment and use. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2010. Awards will be announced by the end of September 2010. More information.
Please note that in North Carolina, there will be a workshop reviewing the application process, with opportunities for prospective applicants to ask questions.
